We Have Had Four Years Of DemocRat Majority Already

With the 2010 mid-term elections less than two weeks away it’s seems strange that people I talk to have forgotten that we have already had four long years of DemocRat majority in the Congress.  Yeah, I know it seems longer than that for some of us but some voters they seem to forget that during the last two years of George W. Bush’s presidency the DemocRats were in charge of both houses of Congress.

The 2006 mid-term elections saw the Republicans lose their Congressional majority and the DemocRats gain the majority.  So, in January 2007 the DemocRats took over the national budget and all Congressional committees.  Yes dear reader, the DemocRats have been in charge of federal oversight for banking, housing and mortgages, and much more for about four years…are you better off?

Remember now? On November 2nd remember who’s been in charge for the last four years and choose between more of the same crap or a new direction.

Congressman Ciro Rodriguez Needs To Go

The 23rd Congressional district of Texas is currently represented by a person, I hesitate to say man, who apparently holds the people he is supposed to represent in contempt.  When it comes to Democrat Congressman Ciro Rodriguez it’s not just a matter of ignoring his constituent’s letters and phone calls, nor is a matter of a solitary comment in an unguarded moment.  No, it’s more about a pattern of behavior that’s been talked about around San Antonio for years but has recently been caught on video tape at a town hall meeting that you can see below.

Any Congressman that dislikes answering his constituent’s questions and has a real problem with the truth like Ciro Rodriguez does needs to be voted out.  Of course the way Congressman Rodriguez behaves with his constituents is only part of the reason he should be voted out.  Other reasons include his votes for every spending bill and earmark he can find and his vote for Obamacare.  I’m Happily American so glad I don’t live in his district.

Congressman Bob Etheridge Assaults College Student For Asking Question

Do you know why Democrats in the media and government like to spread malicious lies about conservatives being intolerant and violent when they gather at Tea Party meetings or anywhere else? It’s because they believe everyone shares their point of view and their willingness to shout down and even physically attack anyone they deem a political or ideological opponent. That’s certainly the case with Congressman Bob Etheridge the Democrat representative from North Carolina’s second district as seen in this video.

Clearly the Congressman must have believed that the student was engaging in an unamerican act for daring to ask if he, a U.S. Congressman, supported the Obama agenda.  To a Democrat that seems to be the ultimate sin…questioning Obama and the Democrats…and it warrants a physical attack.  Next time you hear about “potential violence” from Tea Party gatherings just remember Congressman Bob Etheridge.

Wacky Global Warming News: Record Snow In US

This is just getting too easy.  The hucksters and hoaxers promoting the farce that is Anthropogenic Global Warming are deep in hiding – possibly inside igloos.  Anyone seen Al Gore around?  The esteemed Professor Michael E. Mann, creator of the Hockey Stick Graph in Al Gore’s super exciting slide show?  How about the IPCC’s Drs. Murari Lal or Rajendra Pachauri of Glaciergate infamy?  No, I haven’t seen any of them lately and I’ll bet you haven’t either.  It seems they don’t have anything to say as American cities receive record amounts of snow.

While people like Gore, Mann, Lal and Pachauri are getting paid to peddle their Man-Made Global Warming farce and scumbag politicians plot to take our freedom and money from us based on the farce, cities are getting snowed under.  Baltimore is experiencing record snow fall that’s already nearly 10 inches above the previous mark.  It’s the snowiest winter in Philidelphia history and the snow hasn’t stopped as of this entry.  President Obama’s adopted hometown of Chicago has shattered local records for snowfall.  The nation’s capitol is essentially closed for business (thankfully) due to snow and New York City is under a blizzard watch.  Global Warming indeed.

Despite all the snow and cold temperatures politicians are still ready to pass sweeping “Climate Change Legislation” like the Waxman-Markey bill also known as Cap and Trade (H.R. 2454).  Such legislation cannot combat non-existent Anthropogenic Global Warming and the authors know it.  All it can do is implement a radical environmental agenda that limits your freedom and raises taxes to levels previously unseen.  If you want to live in freedom you’ll get your Congressmen to vote against this legislation.  If you want your kids to be able to keep some of what they earn you’ll tell Congress you don’t want this.

Happy New Year For The U.S. Congress

Happy New Year Congress! Why? Well, those of you in Congress just got a $4,700 pay raise that you voted to give yourselves. Even though Congress has an approval rating of just 9% (lower than the President), the economy is in recession, and unemployment is up, you think you’re worth more money. You’re not worth the money. Members of Congress need to step back and take a look at the pitiful job they’re doing and then give the U.S. Taxpayer back every dime that is above the Federal Minimum Wage.

NOTE: Base salary for a U.S. Congressman is $174,000 of YOUR MONEY. Some in Congress make more money due to their position…Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi will now take $223,500 of YOUR MONEY per year.

Who says crime doesn’t pay?

Congressman Ciro Rodriguez Should Be Ashamed

Here in the wonderful city of San Antonio it’s election season just as it is around the country. The 23rd Congressional District’s current Congressman, Ciro Rodriguez, is running for re-election against former Bexar County Commisioner Lyle Larson. It’s expected during a political campaign that the truth will suffer; however, the depths Congressman Rodriguez has sunk to is completely disgusting. Congressman Rodriguez should be very ashamed.

In television ads by the Democratic Committee on his behalf and in ads placed by his campaign a claim is made that the Congressman’s opponent supports a 23% sales tax added to everything. The ads make it sound as though the sales tax would be added to everything and would be paid in addition to current taxes. The ads make the charge that Lyle Larson is for higher taxes and cite Larson’s own website Issues Page. The ads are lies. It’s very clear if you read Larson’s page that he is against raising taxes and is an advocate of the Fair Tax.

Essentially, the Fair Tax is a national sales tax that REPLACES income tax. Hmm, a 23% sales tax instead of 28% and higher income tax. How is that a tax hike? It’s not. Ciro Rodriguez should be ashamed of telling such lies and misleading the public.

By the way, I don’t live in the 23rd Congressional District and cannot vote for either Rodriquez or Larson. I just don’t like the lies.

Congressmen and other Politicians Should Resign

I’m sure that if you’ve read any of my political commentary on this blog you won’t be surprised at what I’m going to say in this post.

U.S. Representatives and Senators as well as sitting Governors and others elected to public office should resign prior to running for the office of President of the United States. Yes, I said RESIGN. In the current crop of presidential hopefuls you have sitting Senators like Hillary Clinton and John McCain receiving their pay and perks as Senators elected to serve their respective constituents. However, Clinton, McCain and the others are NOT serving their constituents because they’re out on the campaign trail. They’re not taking part in the business of the people that elected them. They’re not in their home states. They’re not in Congress casting votes. They’re not there writing new laws…though I guess we should be thankful for that. They’re getting paid to look for a new job and being allowed to keep their old job just in case they don’t get the new one.

I say that this kind of ABUSE of the people’s trust and tax money needs to end. If your elected representative is running for higher office let them know they need to resign instead of having a fall-back. The people’s business needs to come before personal gain.

Congressman Bennie Thompson Hates NASCAR Fans

Congressman Bennie Thompson (D – Miss), chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, thinks NASCAR fans are disease ridden and that his aides need to be inoculated before mixing with us. How’s that for some elite behavior from an elected official? How’s that for alienating a large portion of voters from his own district?

According to Yahoo Sports: “The seven-term Congressman recently instructed committee aides who visited Talladega Superspeedway last weekend and are also at this weekend’s Nextel Cup race at Lowe’s Motor Speedway to be immunized against a variety of diseases such as hepatitis A, hepatitis B, diphtheria, tetanus and influenza.”

Something not in the story that I’ve wondered about…is this an indication that Congressman Bennie Thompson is a racist? I certainly hope not and I don’t know of anything he’s said that would make that case, but he’s African-American and the overwhelming majority of NASCAR drivers and fans are white. If a Republican Congressman had made a comment like that about a predominately African-American event what would the press be doing right now? They’d be camped out on that Republicans doorstep and asking if he was part of the KKK. Where’s the coverage here? Why didn’t this story about a Democratic Congressman lead the 6 o’clock news?

Hopefully, even without heavy news coverage the voters in Congressman Bennie Thompson’s district will shake his hand and let him know they’ve had their shots when he’s out pressing the flesh. Hopefully they’ll remember what he thinks of them when they vote in the next election.

But you know what? This type of thinking by a Congressman like Bennie Thompson is not unusual in Congress. These elected officials go to Washington, D.C. and start acting as though they’re royalty and above the citizens they are there to represent. It’s time we all got together and voted out ANY politician who has had more than two terms in office. Congressman Bennie Thompson has had 7 terms, look what it’s done to him.
