Wacky Global Warming News: Himalayan Glaciers Part 3

Climbers and Sherpas traversing Himalayan Glacier

Climbers and Sherpas traversing Himalayan Glacier

People sometimes don’t believe it when I say that this wacky Global Warming thing isn’t what they think.  Most people believe that scientists are completely objective and are warning us of impending doom.  They also think that people like Al Gore are just out to save us from ourselves and couldn’t possibly have any evil motives.  They think scientists and rotund ex-Vice-Presidents would never lie.  Wrong, wrong, and wrong.  What’s the latest evidence?  How about a damning admission by a “scientist” authoring the UN’s Nobel Peace Prize winning 2007 climate change report?  That’s what happened.

Dr. Murari Lal, the scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035  admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders. In other words, he knew the information was faulty but still included it to get politicians to fix a non-existent problem.  He didn’t say that he was hoping the politicians would give him more grant money in order to do more “research” but he didn’t not say it either.

Global Warming, particularly anthropogenic global warming, is a hoax that is meant to take away your freedom and your money.  Legislation to “combat the effects of climate change” like the Waxman-Markey Cap and Trade bill (H.R. 2454) will increase energy costs and taxes while doing nothing for the environment.  Tell your Representatives and Senators we don’t need Cap and Trade.

Wacky Global Warming News: Himalayan Glaciers Part 2

The whole “the world is melting because of CO2″ Global Warming thing is pretty wacky.  Remember the entry about Himalayan Glaciers melting by 2035?  Well, it turns out there’s more to the story than just one scientist’s speculation being used by other scientists too lazy to check sources.  You guessed it.  There’s more mistakes about the Himalayan glaciers in the same 2007 report.  You know, the report that resulted in a Nobel Peace Prize for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and Global Warming doomsayer Al Gore.

In addition to the lie about the glaciers melting by 2035, they also say the total area of Himalayan glaciers “will likely shrink from the present 500,000 to 100,000 square kilometers by the year 2035”. Ha!  Another lie, there are only 33,000 square kilometers of glaciers in the Himalayas.  Also, the report claims the Pindari Glacier shrank by 2,840m — a rate of 135.2m a year. The actual rate of shrinkage when the lies are discarded is only 23.5m a year.  All of this has finally been admitted by the head of the IPCC Dr Rajendra Pachauri, who dismissed calls for his resignation.

Global Warming is a lie.  A scam that politicians are using to separate you from your money and freedom through needless taxes and regulation.  Don’t let them do it.

More Crap From Al Gore – Interior Of Earth Several Million Degrees

Apparently Al Gore, non-inventor of the internet, believes that the lyrics to the song “Walkin’ On The Sun” by the group Smashmouth could be part of his global warming slide show.  Why would I say that?  Well, I base it on the former second-banana’s segment on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien.  When O’Brien asked if geothermal energy was really viable Gore replied:

It definitely is, and it’s a relatively new one. People think about geothermal energy – when they think about it at all – in terms of the hot water bubbling up in some places, but two kilometers or so down in most places there are these incredibly hot rocks, ’cause the interior of the earth is extremely hot, several million degrees, and the crust of the earth is hot…

Wow, I never knew we all lived on a STAR.  What?  We don’t live on a star?  But Mr. Global Warming said the Earth’s core is “several million degrees” and he must be right because he’s a Nobel Peace Prize recipient and Oscar winner.  Doesn’t that mean he knows more than anyone else?  No.

I think I was in 5th grade science class when I was told the core of the earth is several thousand degrees.  My science teacher is in good company too.  At the Physlink website they break down the Earth’s core temperature issue:

It is approximately 4000°C at the centre of the Earth. To put this in context:

  1. The centre of the Sun is approximately 15 million°C
  2. The surface of the Sun is 5500°C
  3. Iron melts at 1535°C (when at atmospheric pressure)
  4. Water boils at 100°C (when at atmospheric pressure)
  5. Human skin is comfortable with temperatures up to about 60°C
  6. The highest temperature recorded on the Earth’s surface is 58°C (Libya 1922)

It is not possible to directly measure the temperature at the centre of the Earth and four thousand degrees is nothing more than our most well-established piece of guesswork to date.

Al Gore is not a scientist.  He’s not a climatologist, geologist, or a meteorologist.  He’s a con-man, a huckster making millions off of the unwarranted fear of global catastrophe.  He is also someone who testifies about climate issues in front of other non-scientists in the U.S. Congress while they consider “Cap and Trade” legislation that will drive up taxes and energy costs for Americans.  Make sure your Representatives and Senators know that you know the hot air is from Al Gore, not Global Warming.

Oh, in case you think I’m making this up…here’s the video:

Antarctic Sea Ice Has Expanded

An April 18th article in The Australian newspaper says, “A paper to be published soon by the British Antarctic Survey in the journal Geophysical Research Letters is expected to confirm that over the past 30 years, the area of sea ice around the continent has expanded.”

What? How can that be? According to Al Gore all the Arctic and Antarctic ice is melting due to man-made global warming and will soon swamp a coastline near you. However, someone with better scientific credentials than Gore, a government major in college, has actually studied the Antarctic ice and found more than before. According to the article “Australian Antarctic Division glaciology program head (Dr.) Ian Allison said sea ice losses in west Antarctica over the past 30 years had been more than offset by increases in the Ross Sea region, just one sector of east Antarctica.” Yes, you read it right. Ice increases in one sector of East Antarctica are more than the decreases in West Antarctica….so we have MORE ICE in Antarctica NOT LESS. Tell me again how that means the climate is warming.

More Antarctic ice hints at cooling instead of warming. Man-made global warming is a hoax and it’s an expensive one. European countries are already collecting taxes related to gases supposedly related to global warming including bovine flatulence and BBQ’s on the weekend. Tell your government representatives that you are against taxes to defeat global warming. Do it now because the U.S. Congress is set to pass legislation to “combat climate change” and that’s going to mean you pay more for everything for no good reason.

Does Your Carpet Contribute To Global Warming?

Ok, I still don’t buy the idea of man-made global warming but many people do and those people are some of the biggest hypocrites alive. Many of these “Global Warming is Doomsday” types do things on a reguar basis that, according to their own “science”, contributes to CO2 emissions and global warming. Among the things these hypocrites do is install carpet in their offices, homes and apartments.

I know what you’re thinking…C’mon Ben…Carpet? Yes. Just think about it a minute. There are a few reasons that common household or office carpet contributes to global warming:

1. Modern carpet is made from synthetic fibers usually derived from petroleum (oil). The manufacturing process uses lots of electricity which is usually produced by CO2 producing electric plants.
2. Carpet is very heavy and must be transported great distances from the manufacturer to the distributor’s warehouse by CO2 producing, petroleum burning trucks and trains.
3. Carpet must come from the warehouse to the location it will be installed in by more trucks.
4. Carpet must be regularly cleaned by electric vacuum cleaners and electrically powered steam cleaners. Remember, electricity is produced by generators powered by coal or petroleum.

People don’t need carpet and the global warming crowd needs to recognize this and get carpet banned in all U.S. homes and offices starting with their own.

Al Gore Wins The Nobel Peace Prize

It took me a while to get the nausea to subside. The idea of Al Gore winning the Nobel Peace Prize initially made me feel very unsettled. After all, what has Al Gore done to promote world peace? Has he stopped an ongoing war, or has he just talked trash about leaders that have to face war each day? Has Al Gore prevented a war somewhere? If he has I can’t find a reference anywhere. Has he even brought potential enemies to the table to talk out their differences? No, he hasn’t stopped a war, hasn’t prevented a war, and hasn’t hosted a peace conference.

It turns out that Al Gore’s nomination for the Nobel came about for his efforts to scare the public with stories of impending doom due to global warming. That’s not how the Nobel committee characterized his original nomination, it’s just my interpretation but I stand by it. But since global warming is the basis for Gore’s Nobel, how exactly does his ministry contribute to peace…oh yeah, it doesn’t.

Not only does Al Gore’s global warming ministry not contribute to peace, it’s not particularly good at educating young people. A recent ruling in a British court detailed 9 significant errors in Al Gore’s movie about global warming and ruled that it could not be shown to secondary school children without notes that balance the errors and Gore’s “one-sided” views. Did the Nobel committee know about this?

Did the Nobel committee get it wrong? Of course they did, just like the time they gave the prize to Yasser Arafat. Yes, the terrorist leader Yasser Arafat received the Nobel Peace Prize. Makes me feel globally warm and fuzzy, how about you?

Does An Opening Door Contribute To Global Warming?

Why isn’t there more of an uproar? Everywhere you go there seems to be more and more automatic door openers. At every WalMart, Sam’s Club, Costco, Grocery Store, home improvement store, and just about every other type of large place of business you can find them. Automatic door openers are opening entrances and assisting with your exit…while using electric power produced by power plants producing prodigious amounts of carbon dioxide.

Thousands upon thousands or maybe even millions of automatic door openers are working right now. They’re using electricity everytime someone walks into or out of the door. With all the electricity they’re using you would think more people would join the fight to ban automatic door openers around the world. As if it wasn’t bad enough that automatic door openers contribute to global warming they’re probably contributing to obesity too.

Automatic door openers might seem like small fries to those trying to ban the internal combustion engine. Automatic door openers might seem insignificant compared to the massive carbon footprint of Al Gore as he flies in a private jet to a speech that could have been given via satellite; however, when you add up all the electricity used by automatic door openers you can understand the threat they pose and their evil contribution to Global Warming. Do your part today…open a door by yourself.

By the way, the above post is a load of crap…kinda like the idea of man-made Global Warming.

Global Warming…The First Post of Many

The media and the environmental zealots would call me a “global warming denier”. That’s not really what I am. If I deny anything about the so called global warming crisis it’s that it’s a man-made phenomenom. Can you really believe that we have enough information to make that determination? That we’ve accounted for Solar activity over the past million years? That we know enough about the orbital dynamics of the Earth? How about the global cooling effects of volcanic activity? The list of stuff we don’t know is quite long. The information that we do have indicates that the Earth goes through occasional periods of warming and cooling and we don’t have all the information about those periods.

Let me state it this way…the Earth has had several periods of extreme cold called “Ice Ages”. Guess what? EVERY ICE AGE ENDED DUE TO GLOBAL WARMING! Imagine that! There was actually global warming before mankind invented cars, factories, large cities, power plants, and all the other stuff that’s supposedly making the planet warmer.
