Another Fly In The White House

Another Fly In The White House

I’m not saying that Barack Hussein Obama, President of the United States, attracts flies but I can’t recall any other President being so plagued by them. Whether Obama attracts them or not, the lowly feces-eating insect says a lot about his presidency and ability to govern.

First, it says he is all too willing to bow to radical special interest groups like People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).  This fly that was buzzing Obama on June 22nd was not subjected to the same fate as the fly that succumbed to the Commander-in-Chief’s wrath in June of 2009.  PETA’s spokesman Bruce Friedrich said Obama shouldn’t kill flies and Obama clearly has complied.

Next, it calls into question Obama’s desire to control borders.  After all, if the President won’t keep nasty disease-infested flies out of the White House or at least capture them once they’ve entered, why should anyone believe he would keep criminal aliens out of the country?  It also makes me wonder if he’ll have the Department of Justice file a lawsuit against makers of bug zappers and fly paper…if he’ll do it to Arizona why wouldn’t he do to lawfully operating American companies?

Sometimes a fly is just a fly, sometimes it’s an interesting symbol of a presidency.

California versus Texas

Texas Governor Rick Perry

Texas Governor Rick Perry

A study in government.  (h/t to Alicia N.)

The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail.  A coyote jumps out and attacks his dog killing it.

California:

#1. Governor starts to intervene, reflects upon the movie “Bambi” and then realizes he should stop; the coyote is only doing what is natural.

#2. He calls animal control. Animal control captures coyote and spends $200 testing it for diseases and $500 upon relocating it.

#3. He calls veterinarian. Vet collects dead dog and spends $200 testing it for diseases.

#4. Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting bite wound bandaged.

#5. Running trail gets shut down for 6 months while wildlife services conduct a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is clear of dangerous animals.

#6. Governor spends $50,000 of state funds implementing a “coyote awareness” program for residents of the area.

#7. State legislature spends $2 million investigating how to better handle rabies and how to possibly eradicate the disease.

#8. Governor’s security agent is fired for not stopping the attack and for letting the Governor intervene.

#9. Cost: $75,000 to train new security agent.

#10. PETA protests the coyote relocation and files a multi million dollar suit against the state.

Texas:

#1. Governor shoots coyote and keeps jogging.  Governor has spent $0.50 on a .380 ACP hollow point cartridge. Buzzards eat dead coyote.  PETA moans and groans but nobody listens.

Any wonder why California is broke????

Partially based on a true story.

Big Surprise – PETA Wishes PBO Hadn’t Swatted That Fly

Ok, this definitely falls into the category of “I couldn’t make this stuff up”. On June 16th, during another of Barack Obama’s seemingly endless TV appearances, he swatted and killed a fly that had been buzzing around him. It’s actually one of the few times I’ve agreed with him but he’s getting grief from everyone’s favorite fringe animal group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Yes, PETA is upset that the Apologizer In Chief killed that poor, innocent, feces-eating creature (which isn’t an animal).

According to PETA spokesman Bruce Friedrich, “We support compassion even for the most curious, smallest and least sympathetic animals” and “We believe that people, where they can be compassionate, should be, for all animals.” And, they must mean it too because they’re sending the President the “Katcha Bug Humane Bug Catcher”, a device that allows users to trap a house fly and then release it outside so it can land on more feces before landing on your food.

For his part in this matter President Obama didn’t seem apologetic at all for killing the filthy creature. In fact he said “That was pretty impressive, wasn’t it? I got the sucker.” Yeah, he actually gloated about doing something any five year-old can do.

I’m not really even sure what else to say about this, it makes my head hurt.

Hypocrites in Action – PETA Killed 95% of Adoptable Pets in 2008

Hypocrisy at People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) shouldn’t seem unusual. After all most liberal groups are “Do as I say, not as I do” in nature when it comes to promoting their agenda. Earlier this week the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) published documents online showing that PETA members killed 95 percent of the adoptable animals in its care last year (2008). Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the “animal rights” group kills nearly 6 animals each day at its Norfolk, VA headquarters.

CCF Research Director David Martosko said: “PETA hasn’t slowed down its hypocritical killing machine one bit, but it keeps browbeating the rest of society with a phony ‘animal rights’ message. What about the rights of the thousands of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens that die in PETA’s headquarters building?”

Martosko added: “Since killing pets is A-OK with PETA, why should anyone listen to their demands about eating meat, using lab rats for medical research, or taking children to the circus?”

You would think that $32 million annual budget these hypocrites have it would enable PETA to put their money toward actually “saving” animals rather than killing them. But I guess they need to pay their Community Organizers to get out the message…you know…for the greater good.

I like my version of PETA better since it’s not so hypocritical…People Eating Tasty Animals…pass the A1.

What Do Radical Islamists And PETA Have In Common? Me.

Maybe my mind works in odd ways but sometimes weird things occur to me. This time I was in the local Tony Roma’s when I figured out I must be hated by Radical Islamic Jihadists and members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). Yeah, at the same time!

I know they seem very different but they hate some of the same things…or people. In this case the epiphany came while I was eating a full rack of baby backs (original flavor). You see dear reader…Islam forbids eating pork…and PETA has a hissy fit when people eat animals. And, here I was doing both! I’m a Carnivorous Infidel!!

I’m sure I’ll be a marked man for pointing out something else. They have something else in common…they both take advantage of children. Jihadists convince kids to blow up themselves and others. PETA tells horror stories to kids to scare them into vegetarianism.

What else? Well, both groups…Jihadists and PETA…supported the Democrat candidate in the 2008 Presidential election. No surprise there.

Hopefully the Jihadists and PETA won’t compare notes on me. ‘Cause I’m thinking maybe they come at me with a red paint bomb while I’m eating a pulled pork sandwich.

PETA Protestors In San Antonio – Stupidity On Parade

In their ongoing effort to turn the entire world into a bunch of vegetarians members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) demonstrated in front of the shrine of the Alamo on Wednesday. Once again they tried to convince people that the production of meat for food is destroying the planet by providing dubious statistics.

According to KSAT TV in San Antonio PETA claimed “The demonstration in front of the Alamo was an effort to encourage (sic) people from eating meat, and used a nearly-nude woman in a portable shower to explain how the water used to prepare one pound of meat is the equivalent to six months of showers.”

Well, assuming the PETA folks actually shower and assuming that their statistics are even close to accurate…who cares? What’s their point? That cattle drink water? That cattle are washed with water? Are they actually trying to say that once a cow takes a drink that the water somehow becomes undrinkable for humans and can’t be used to water plants? Maybe they’re saying that water used in meat production is lost in a series of black holes that exist only in meat packing plants?

All water consumed by animals is returned to the ecosystem through urine, water vapor released during respiration, etc. Not one drop of water leaves the planet because my future steak has a drink. Further, the water contained in meat contributes to hydration of animals farther up the food chain – like me.
