Bush’s presidency the DemocRats were in charge of both houses of Congress.

The 2006 mid-term elections saw the Republicans lose their Congressional majority and the DemocRats gain the majority. So, in January 2007 the DemocRats took over the national budget and all Congressional committees. Yes dear reader, the DemocRats have been in charge of federal oversight for banking, housing and mortgages, and much more for about four years…are you better off?

If your having a hard time remembering what the DemocRats have been up to for the past four years here’s a video to jog your memory:

Remember now? On November 2nd remember who’s been in charge for the last four years and choose between more of the same crap or a new direction.

The 23rd Congressional district of Texas is currently represented by a person, I hesitate to say man, who apparently holds the people he is supposed to represent in contempt. When it comes to Democrat Congressman Ciro Rodriguez it’s not just a matter of ignoring his constituent’s letters and phone calls, nor is a matter of a solitary comment in an unguarded moment. No, it’s more about a pattern of behavior that’s been talked about around San Antonio for years but has recently been caught on video tape at a town hall meeting that you can see below.

Any Congressman that dislikes answering his constituent’s questions and has a real problem with the truth like Ciro Rodriguez does needs to be voted out. Of course the way Congressman Rodriguez behaves with his constituents is only part of the reason he should be voted out. Other reasons include his votes for every spending bill and earmark he can find and his vote for Obamacare. I’m Happily American so glad I don’t live in his district.

Before the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) ruled to strike down Chicago’s 28-year-old handgun ban in McDonald v. Chicago, the Mayor and Aldermen of Chicago were just un-American hypocrites guilty of denying United States citizens their 2nd Amendment rights. After the SCOTUS handed down their 5-4 decision on Chicago’s brainless handgun ban, the Second City politicians are doing something almost as bad.

On Friday, right before the nation celebrated Independence Day, Chicago’s Aldermen struck a blow against freedom loving Americans who just want to defend themselves and secure the blessings of liberty. In the wake of the SCOTUS decision the Mayor of Chicago and all 45 Aldermen of Chicago have decided that since they can no longer just deny people their rights, they’ll ration them. Yes dear reader, Chicago is rationing rights.

Chicago’s “Responsible Gun Ownership Ordinance” is really full of problems for liberty loving Americans but the provision that requires rationing of a Constitutional Right is pretty disturbing. The ordinance restricts Chicago residents to purchasing only one handgun per month. Where is that in the Second Amendment? Did I miss it somewhere? Does the Second Amendment end with “shall not be infringed but can be rationed at will”? No.

Why anyone would want to buy more than one handgun in a month is completely irrelevant. What is relevant is that Chicago’s elected officials who all swore an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution are all too willing to violate that oath. This time Chicago’s “leaders” are limiting gun purchases but where will that lead? What will they ration next, Free Speech? It could be titled the “Responsible Bloggers Ordinance” and would limit you to one entry of 200 words per month. How about a “Responsible Worshipper Ordinance” that would limit you to one religious service per month? After all, too much worship might be detrimental to the jobs of politicians.

If you’re thinking that rationing of speech and religion can’t happen you’re wrong. Fifty years ago rationing of gun rights would have been unthinkable, now you don’t hear much about it in the media and few seem outraged. Fight for your rights or you will lose them…Chicago is just the beginning.

If you’ve ever wondered about the intelligence of people who voted for Barack Hussein Obama in the 2008 Presidential election you need to watch the video below. In the video below Peggy West, a Democrat county supervisor in Milwaukee is speaking in support of boycotting the State of Arizona because of the new immigration law (SB1070). The problem is that she apparently doesn’t know that Arizona is having problems with criminal immigrants because Arizona borders Mexico.

Do you know why Democrats in the media and government like to spread malicious lies about conservatives being intolerant and violent when they gather at Tea Party meetings or anywhere else? It’s because they believe everyone shares their point of view and their willingness to shout down and even physically attack anyone they deem a political or ideological opponent. That’s certainly the case with Congressman Bob Etheridge the Democrat representative from North Carolina’s second district as seen in this video.

Clearly the Congressman must have believed that the student was engaging in an unamerican act for daring to ask if he, a U.S. Congressman, supported the Obama agenda. To a Democrat that seems to be the ultimate sin…questioning Obama and the Democrats…and it warrants a physical attack. Next time you hear about “potential violence” from Tea Party gatherings just remember Congressman Bob Etheridge.

If you’ve adopted Man-Made Global Warming as your religion you may want to reserve space in the next cult de-programming session…there’s been no global warming since 1995 according to one of your very own cult leaders – Professor Phil Jones. That’s not all. The former head of the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit has made a few other interesting admissions you might want to know about.

Jones, the guy at the heart of Climategate, has admitted that one of the reasons he didn’t respond to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests by researchers and skeptics is that he may have actually lost the information they wanted. Lost? Yes, he may have lost the information that is the basis for a number of climate change claims including those of the famous “Hockey Stick Graph” prepared by Dr. Michael Mann and used ad nauseam by Al Gore in his slide show. The information is also the basis of claims made in reports by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) at the United Nations…reports that are used by politicians to justify limiting individual freedom and raising taxes though they’re riddled with errors.

Professor Jones has “also conceded the possibility that the world was warmer in medieval times than now – suggesting global warming may not be a man-made phenomenon.” Really? A period of warming that can’t be attributed to cars and SUVs burning fossil fuels, coal-burning electrical plants, manufacturing, or use of incandescent light bulbs? Could it be that the earth goes through periods of warming and cooling due to factors not related to the activity of mankind? That’s pretty much what he admitted to, isn’t it?

Another interesting admission by Professor Jones is that there had been two other more recent periods which experienced warming similar to the medieval period, from 1910 to 1940 and from 1975 to 1998, but he said these could be explained by natural phenomena! Wait a second…why does that time period of 1975 to 1998 look so familiar? Got it. It looks familiar because 12 of the 20 hottest years on record, according the Union of Concerned Scientists, occur during the 1975 to 1998 period. So, 12 of the 20 hottest years on record can be explained by natural, not man-made, phenomena.

Wow, I guess science isn’t what it used to be. At least not at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) of the United Nations. In 2007 the IPCC shared the Nobel Peace Prize (along with Al Gore) for their global warming/climate change report. It’s a report that politicians around the world point to when they want to take away our money and freedom to fight global warming. Well, at least part of the report is less about science than it is BS.

It turns out that the IPCC has been doing very little science regarding glaciers and mountain ice melt. In fact the news coming out sounds more like the IPCC is a bunch of third-graders lifting information from the encyclopedia for their report. First, news broke that the IPCC had included unsubstantiated “speculation” by one scientist contained in an 8 year old article to make a false claim that Himalayan Glaciers would melt by 2035. Then it was learned that the IPCC also drastically overstated both the size of Himalayan Glaciers and the rate at which they were melting. Next, Dr. Murari Lal, the scientist behind the part of the report with the bogus claims about Himalayan Glaciers admitted he included the information in order to put pressure on politicians to take action. There’s also money at the heart of all of this. But are the Himalayan Glacier errors the end of the story? Not by a long shot.

The UK Telegraph reports the IPCC has also played fast and loose with their claims about mountain ice melting in the Andes, Alps, and Africa due to global warming. How? Claims in this “scientific” report about disappearing ice in the Andes, Alps, and Africa are actually based on an article in a mountain climbing magazine and a student’s dissertation. The claims about the disappearing mountain ice were in a table of the IPCC’s report entitled “Selected observed effects due to changes in the cryosphere produced by warming”. It says reductions in mountain ice have been observed from the loss of ice climbs in the Andes, Alps and in Africa between 1900 and 2000. The problem? The claims are based on guesses and anecdotes – NOT SCIENCE. Also, both sources were written by known global warming activists not by objective scientific observers.

Global Warming is far from “settled science” and in fact it’s looking more and more like there’s no science behind it at all. Unfortunately, governments are taking action to “fight climate change” based in part on the massive load of crap in the IPCC report that is being given unwarranted credibility in many media outlets. Keep yourself informed and let your representative know you’re aware of the scam. Your money and your freedom are at stake.

People sometimes don’t believe it when I say that this wacky Global Warming thing isn’t what they think. Most people believe that scientists are completely objective and are warning us of impending doom. They also think that people like Al Gore are just out to save us from ourselves and couldn’t possibly have any evil motives. They think scientists and rotund ex-Vice-Presidents would never lie. Wrong, wrong, and wrong. What’s the latest evidence? How about a damning admission by a “scientist” authoring the UN’s Nobel Peace Prize winning 2007 climate change report? That’s what happened.

Dr. Murari Lal, the scientist behind the bogus claim in a Nobel Prize-winning UN report that Himalayan glaciers will have melted by 2035 admitted it was included purely to put political pressure on world leaders. In other words, he knew the information was faulty but still included it to get politicians to fix a non-existent problem. He didn’t say that he was hoping the politicians would give him more grant money in order to do more “research” but he didn’t not say it either.

Global Warming, particularly anthropogenic global warming, is a hoax that is meant to take away your freedom and your money. Legislation to “combat the effects of climate change” like the Waxman-Markey Cap and Trade bill (H.R. 2454) will increase energy costs and taxes while doing nothing for the environment. Tell your Representatives and Senators we don’t need Cap and Trade.

The following is reproduced from the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action website dated May 1, 2009:

You know you are doing something right when two prominent politicians driven from public office come out in favor of gun control in the same week.

After resigning from the governorship of New York in shame and spending months out of the public eye, Eliot Spitzer (D) has decided to launch a campaign to rehabilitate himself by giving unsolicited gun control advice to President Barack Obama. Yes, this is the same Eliot Spitzer who, after railing against the “unregulated” firearm industry as New York’s Attorney General, was driven from public office when caught spending $4,300 on a member of the oldest and most unregulated of professions.

On Wednesday, Spitzer wrote in Slate magazine that President Obama should not worry about Congress and the public, but should impose gun control on his own. Spitzer’s article resurrects a scheme from former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Andrew Cuomo. Cuomo’s idea was that the federal government would buy guns for the military and federal law enforcement agencies only from manufacturers who agree not to sell “certain types of weapons” (unspecified, but presumably including “assault weapons” and many types of handguns) to the general public; not to sell guns without trigger locks, hidden serial numbers, or a magazine disconnect—features that have no particular benefit and some of which decrease the firearm’s usefulness for self-defense; not to sell guns to dealers who are not “authorized;” and not to sell guns to dealers to which guns recovered from criminals have been traced.

Just think, if Spitzer had spent $4,300.00 on guns, he’d still be Governor. But given his views on the issue, it’s just as well he was driven from public office.

The assault on our Second Amendment rights is continuing. Don’t let yourself believe that your rights can’t be taken away just because they’re in the U.S. Constitution. Legislation can be passed that technically doesn’t take away your rights but makes it so difficult to exercise your rights that you give up on them.

What can you do? First, join the NRA. You can join online at the NRA Membership website and can even give a gift membership to a friend or loved one. Second, demand that your Congressmen and Senators keep their power hungry mitts off of your rights. Do it soon…like today.

I’m sure that if you’ve read any of my political commentary on this blog you won’t be surprised at what I’m going to say in this post.

U.S. Representatives and Senators as well as sitting Governors and others elected to public office should resign prior to running for the office of President of the United States. Yes, I said RESIGN. In the current crop of presidential hopefuls you have sitting Senators like Hillary Clinton and John McCain receiving their pay and perks as Senators elected to serve their respective constituents. However, Clinton, McCain and the others are NOT serving their constituents because they’re out on the campaign trail. They’re not taking part in the business of the people that elected them. They’re not in their home states. They’re not in Congress casting votes. They’re not there writing new laws…though I guess we should be thankful for that. They’re getting paid to look for a new job and being allowed to keep their old job just in case they don’t get the new one.

I say that this kind of ABUSE of the people’s trust and tax money needs to end. If your elected representative is running for higher office let them know they need to resign instead of having a fall-back. The people’s business needs to come before personal gain.
