Obama never saw a camera he didn't love

Alfred Nobel, inventor of Dynamite, was pretty clear about the criteria for awarding the peace prize bearing his name, it goes, “to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses.”  Given those criteria I was surprised that the Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to President Barack Obama.  It was awarded by the Nobel committee despite Obama meeting none of Nobel’s criteria by the February 1, 2009 nomination deadline…nor since.  It must have surprised the President too.  In a rare display of truth President Obama said, “I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures honored by this prize.”  Truer words….

Interestingly not everyone thought Obama was undeserving, some noted peaceniks fawned all over Obama.  Fidel Castro, former Communist Military Dictator of Cuba, said that Obama’s award was a “positive measure”.  Ahmed Yousef, deputy foreign minister of (Terrorist Organization) Hamas said, “We congratulate him for this”.  Also offering congratulations was Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Mohamed ElBaradei (2005 Nobel Peace Prize) who said “Israel is number one threat to Middle East”.  What a great bunch to have behind you, eh?

Anyway, now that President Obama has won the Nobel Peace Prize he’s being considered by a number of other prize committees.  It’s expected that Obama will be presented the following awards in 2009 and 2010:

The Academy Award (Oscar): Obama will be presented the Best Picture Oscar for the autobiographical movie of his life that he intends to someday write, direct, and star in.  Harrison Ford will deliver the trophy to Obama in France.

The Tony Award:  Obama will be presented the Tony for his one-man show based on the memoir he hasn’t written or even conceived of yet.  No word yet if the teleprompter will get a nod.

The Pulitzer Prize: Barack Obama’s unwritten memoir easily gets the next Pulitzer.  I’m still waiting to find out if the Nobel Committee will revise the 2009 Nobel Prize for Literature winners or wait until 2010 to present the award for the unwritten book.

The Grammy Award:  The as yet to be recorded spoken-word version President Obama’s memoir that he hasn’t yet written will also garner the Grammy Award in 2010 even though it’s not expected to hit the shelves for several years – if ever.

The Emmy Award:  Barack Obama’s planned but not yet produced sock puppet show will get the daytime Emmy for Best Daytime Drama by defeating Susan Lucci.  He’ll also get the prime time award for the same show despite it never being shown…ever.

After that who knows?  Will he be awarded the NBA Finals MVP trophy or the Cy Young award?  The Heisman Trophy?  America’s Cup?  He’s just as qualified to win those awards as he is to win the Nobel Peace Prize.

Maybe I’m too hard on Obama.  Maybe he’s actually qualified to win one award…the World Magic Award for making democracy and free markets disappear in his own country.

PETA Protestors In San Antonio – Stupidity On Parade

In their ongoing effort to turn the entire world into a bunch of vegetarians members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) demonstrated in front of the shrine of the Alamo on Wednesday. Once again they tried to convince people that the production of meat for food is destroying the planet by providing dubious statistics.

According to KSAT TV in San Antonio PETA claimed “The demonstration in front of the Alamo was an effort to encourage (sic) people from eating meat, and used a nearly-nude woman in a portable shower to explain how the water used to prepare one pound of meat is the equivalent to six months of showers.”

Well, assuming the PETA folks actually shower and assuming that their statistics are even close to accurate…who cares? What’s their point? That cattle drink water? That cattle are washed with water? Are they actually trying to say that once a cow takes a drink that the water somehow becomes undrinkable for humans and can’t be used to water plants? Maybe they’re saying that water used in meat production is lost in a series of black holes that exist only in meat packing plants?

All water consumed by animals is returned to the ecosystem through urine, water vapor released during respiration, etc. Not one drop of water leaves the planet because my future steak has a drink. Further, the water contained in meat contributes to hydration of animals farther up the food chain – like me.

Stupid Is As Stupid….

Some things that are done are so stupid that you really can’t believe someone with an IQ above room temperature did them. This time it’s a group of nine Muslim-Americans. It turns out that these nine muslims were On An Airplane ready to depart on vacation and were talking amongst themselves about where the safest place to sit on the plane was. Huh? Their conversation, which the FBI has stated was completely innocent, was overheard by other passengers who complained. The nine were taken off of the plane and extensively interviewed by the FBI.

Could Anyone have seen this coming? Could the average ten year old child figure out that people that appear to be Arab/Muslim/Middle Eastern talking about safety On An Airplane might receive some official scrutiny? Have these people, all but one of which were born in the U.S., forgotten that a bunch of Arab-Muslim’s killed thousands of Americans on September 11th?

They need to get a clue.

Do Obama Followers Know What He Stands For?

It’s been said that followers of Senator Barack Hussein Obama have no idea what he stands for. Personally I think it’s because he doesn’t divulge a lot of details on how he plans to do things if he becomes President of the United States.

Obama’s followers in Harlem were interviewed and asked if they supported his policies as read to them by the interviewer. These people who support Obama agreed with all the policies the interviewer asked them about but there’s a problem…they were Senator John McCain’s policies. The Harlem Obama supporters had no idea where their leader stood on issues. Hear the Audio

I bring this up yet again because of something I saw today at the gun range in Corpus Christi, Texas. It was a Toyota Hybrid with an Obama 2008 sticker on it. I couldn’t believe what I saw. This wasn’t a protestor that drove the car, it was someone who owns a gun and was there to shoot. C’mon, a gun owner that supports Barack Hussein Obama? Clearly this person is totally uninformed regarding Obama’s history of anti-gun behavior. What history is that you ask? Well, according to the NRA’s Magazine “America’s Freedom”, Obama has:

  • Supported banning hundreds of rifles and shotguns commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.
  • Voted to allow “reckless” lawsuits designed to put the firearms industry out of business.
  • Voted to allow the prosecution of citizens who use a firearm for self-defense in the home.
  • Supported increasing taxes on firearms and ammunition by 500 percent.
  • Voted to ban virtually all rifle ammunition commonly used for hunting and sport shooting.
  • Became a member of the board of directors of the radically anti-gun Joyce Foundation.
  • Said in 1996 that he supported a complete handgun ban in a questionnaire from the Independent Voters of Illinois.
  • Proposed a ban on gun stores within five miles of any school or park.
  • Stated his support for gun owner licensing and firearm registration.
  • Voted for one-gun-a-month handgun purchase limits.
  • Voted against confirming pro-Second Amendment justices to the U.S. Supreme Court.

If you’re a follower of Barack Hussein Obama…did you know about this? If you didn’t you really should check into your leader before you vote. If you did know about this and still plan to vote for Senator Obama…SHAME ON YOU.
